Where to get a diagosis

New York City is rich in medical schools and medical institutions with expertise in the diagnosing of dementia. Many of the centers have active research programs where diagnosis is free for those patients involved in the research programs. Many of the centers have family counseling services and support groups, co-sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, which help families understand the complexity of the diagnostic work-up, and help with sorting out payment for the diagnosis. Almost all centers accept Medicare, Medicaid and third party insurance payments.
